Bloom Where You Are Planted
I got these flowers from my sweet boyfriend, Timothy, yesterday and it got me of thinking of the super cliche quote ‘bloom where you are planted’ but it holds so much truth during this season of life. God hasn’t put us in this season unintentionally. He knows exactly what He is doing and our only job during this time is to show His love or ‘bloom’!
I love the idea of being the aroma of Christ. The aroma that comes off of a flower is indicative of the fact that it is indeed a flower. In the same way, our actions, words and the way we live our lives in the midst of triumphs and tragedies is indicative of the fact that we are found in Christ!
Jeremiah 29:4-7 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, ‘Build houses and live in them; and plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and become the fathers of sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there and do not decrease. Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf for in its welfare you will have welfare.’
This world may not be your home but let’s bloom where we are planted and show the hope of Christ even in the midst of uncertain seasons!
